i think it's a good idea to try and promote a safer, more enjoyable hobby. but it doesn't address the fact that many modified cars still have illegal mods, even if their owners aren't total dicks and burn out at every meet, they are still breaking the law. cops aren't gonna sit and watch just because owners are being respectful to surrounding neighbors and businesses (though it helps to keep them away by not attracting unwanted attention)

It's only illegal if you get caught or some phrase like that. I understand certain laws need to be abided by, but that's the risk some modders take. Personally, all parts on my cars are CARB approved so I guess I'm in the minority

agreed with rayray but lets be honest, california has some of the most ridiculous car laws. our state even has our own set of emission laws while the rest of the states use federal emission laws. it makes sourcing some parts ridiculously hard.
